Nedved’s Czech return
Thursday 3 November, 2005
Pavel Nedved has come out of international retirement to play in the Czech Republic’s World Cup play-off against Norway.

The Juventus midfielder quit the international game last year after Euro 2004 in order to prolong his club career.

However, he has now decided to give his country a helping hand as they look to qualify for Germany ’06.

“We have a strong team and we'll be even stronger with Nedved,” said Czech Coach Karel Bruckner.

The announcement confirms Nedved’s comments last month that he would like to play for his country once again.

Following the Czech Republic’s failure to automatically qualify for the tournament, Nedved stated: “I will seriously consider playing. It would only be for two games but I would be very happy to help my country.”

Milan’s Marek Jankulovski and Tomas Ujfalusi of Fiorentina have also been named in the 23-man squad for the games being played on November 12 and 16.

I'm not exactly loving the idea... but relieved that it's only 2 games.. :undecide:

Well is not like he has been a determinant factor for Juve, well at least bnot before the Bayern match...

Look its perfectly natural that a player wants to play for his country and also like someone alredy said, Nedved deserves to play in the Wolrd Cup (if he decides to play on it).

We can't expect that all of Juventus players don't go to represent their countrys is not fair.

yeah, his form doesn't warrant a call up but everyone else is doing it, so why not nedved. hope the czechs make it, they're always entertaining, remember the holland - czech republic match at the euros last year, outstanding and pavel was great in that tournament.
