Today, about two hours ago I flew an airplane for the first time. It was absolutely amazing. It started out with the instructor and I going through a checklist. Basically checking so that all parts are operable, the aviation fuel is clean, there’s enough fuel, enough oil. Also checked all the airplane parts that make it turn, bank, and pitch. Then we got into the tiniest space you can imagine. Then we did the cockpit inspection. Checked that all meters were working, did some adjustments and then we were finally done. The Instructor called the tower to request for taxiing. After clearance he asked me to taxii the airplane to the proper runway. This shit was hard! You got two pedals by the feet that you use to turn the airplane, and you gotta constantly follow a yellow line on the runway.

Anways..so we got on the proper runway and he stopped, did the last adjustments to the cockpit instruments, and then we got on the runway to take off. He applied full throttle and we were cruising down the runway. Once we got to 55 knots/hr I pulled back on the yoke (steering), and OMG we were airborne. ( I wonder how Orville Wright felt at that moment!)

All I could see was the blue sky, and because it was so windy the airplane was being thrown left and right. The airplane is so light, that you can actually feel the wind hitting the bottom of the airplane. So at that very moment when we took off the thing that struck my mind was, “Do I really wanna do this for a living??”

But right then the instructor gave me the controls and told me to keep ascending. As soon as I got the controls and got the feel for the plane I felt a lot better and it became exciting. After about 10 minutes of flying, he asked me to make a 180 turn back towards the airport. It was exhilarating to be controlling the airplane, making the turns, pitching up and down. Words cannot properly describe the feeling. You have to try it out for yourself. Anyways, I just wanted to share this w/you all :D wish me luck in the future :thumb:

Peace!

    That sounds pretty good.

Im scared shitless of airplanes though
most people don't know that airplanes are safer than automobiles. far less accidents, and over all safer.

I tell you, you should judge an airline on a lot of things before costumes.. ;)

Yes but most Aireplane accidents are much more catosraphic than car accidents.

Lately I dont really feel comftrable with airplanes...I feel getting old:groan:. But I think if I were a pilot I would feel safer, kinda like when driving a car at high speeds, you feel safe, but the passengers are scared shitless!
