How about we try that again with you:
Did it occur to you that there might also be this other -however small- group of intellectuals, elites, et al, that may think, "Alright, as horrible and unworthy of presidency as this Trump guy may be, we have the obligation to the public to be as fair and impartial as we can in our presentation of both candidates' good and evil, and let them be the judge. So let's not try to shove who we think is the right choice, down people's throats."?
Doesn't this group also count as intellectuals? Am I wrong to want the intellectuals I look up to, to act in such a way? How hard is it to understand that this won't automatically make me an anti-intellectual as a whole?
When did I say they should not be impartial? I think they are far more favorable towards Trump as they pretty much gifted him a lot of free coverage. Trump's lies and deceptions are on another level. He also has a very cozy safe space with Sean Hannity in Fox News (which is the most watched cable news network in the US)
But your own words in your first post were an attack towards intellectuals and elites in general. You did not talk about a ideological dividing line between "intellectuals" you like and the ones you don't.

Do they though? I don't really think so.

Imagine any other politician had the same unprecedented quantity and quality of scandals, I don't think they'd be going any more or less hard on him/her either.

He gets a lot of negative coverage for sure, but that doesn't mean that there's any particular intrinsical bias against him.
The media backlash against Trump of the last couple weeks has made people forget that they were basically glossing over his sins for the previous year, ignoring them, trivializing them, allowing him free advertising space for spouting his absurdities whenever he wanted. They may not have pushed him to the top, but they were certainly complicit in his rise by allowing him to use them as an advertising platform.

I disagree. He knows very well that Chinese GDP growth rate is a very high bar and that's exactly why he uses it. His recent line of attack is that our recovery under Obama has been the slowest since 1929! That sentence, of course, is too vague to be taken seriously, but it wants you to believe its simple message: Obama is the worst leader since 1929!
I haven't seen this much deception in any election, barring perhaps for Ahmadinejad who had his own numbers. People who call Hillary liar and stay silent on Trump are either fools, or compare each candidate to people in their own league, which for Hillary is other national politicians; and for Trump is likes of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Many Americans really believe so. I think it's one big contributor to Trump's popularity and success, that for some reason that I can never understand many Americans believe Obama has been one of the worst presidents of this country, to the point that someone (be it Bernie or Trump) needs to come to rescue. I can't wrap my head around it.

People take events that aren't in his or their control and blame him for it. That's a lot of it. I've seen people take some minuscule stupid decision made by some random school district in the midwest and place is squarely on his shoulders, going on long rants about it. Legit the dumbest shit.

Also my family's insurance premiums went up because of "Obamacare," so there's that as well :p.

They actually believe Obama is the worst leader since 1776, or maybe even the dawn of the time .

This guy predicts a Trump victory (has a good rep predicting who wins). Debates have historically not been a good indicator as to who wins apparently.

The reality is that people who vote for Trump are thinking they are getting the ultimate anti-establishment president. red neck middle america will probably vote for him. But if the blacks and Latinos turn out in numbers, surely Clinton would win.

I still am pinching myself how a guy like him can get even this far!

It's not about policies because Trump has no real policies. He has a bunch of vague, shifting, goals. But he really hasn't outlined how he actually plans to achieve any of them. Secret foreign policy plans, lower taxes and manufacturing returns (as though it's as simple as that), make police strong, slash federal regulations 70% (meanwhile his campaign says 10%), and so on.

Hillary might be cold and callous, and power hungry (like almost every career politician), but at least she has laid out real policies and plans for her potential presidency, and she discusses them at her conferences, on her campaign website, fields questions about them, etc.

This campaign has devolved into ad hominem because Trump has no clue and has laid out the policies of a 3rd grader. He's escaped most scrutiny for it by turning the election campaign into a nightmare of absurdity.
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

*CLINTON SAYS YOU NEED TO HAVE A PRIVATE AND PUBLIC POSITION ON POLICY* *Clinton: “But If Everybody's Watching, You Know, All Of The Back Room Discussions And The Deals, You Know, Then People Get A Little Nervous, To Say The Least. So, You Need Both A Public And A Private Position.”*

honestly, there's no way either of them should be allowed anywhere near the presidency. feels like some sort of galactic test. but if I had to pick one I'd take Trump
