The same thing happened here. People voted for an extreme right wing candidate who promised to build a Hindu temple on a land where a mosque once stood and abolish article 370 which gave special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Two very contentious issues that'll give the wall and the muslim ban a run for it's money. He won by a landslide and it's been two years and nothing on those fronts. The majority party barely even talks about it. Doesn't stop his supporters from blowing his horn every single minute of the day.
Trump will do just fine even if he doesn't keep his promise. Most often than not people will support him through anything because they want to assure themselves that they made the right choice.

I doubt it. In my experience for 3 elections in a row I have voted for 3 different parties who before elections seemed the most solid choice and afterwards acted like the biggest dicks and played double agent role in position and opposition each time. I have no problem admitting I was wrong, but I am very fast running out of any trust in parties, politics or democracy, at this rate in 5 years time I won't be voting at all and Im 26. Trump has potential to give a very hard landing for all his voters, which can result in a dysfunctional democracy where hardly anyone gives a fuck anymore.

So I was really worried that she had a agreement with them to make more 'war' in the middle-east. Besides that she hates Russia and I think as a Dutch guy that it is important to hold strong ties with Russia, to avoid problems.

Trump on the other side is a total-goof. He is impulsive and that is really dangerous. I think he will not last longer than 4 years after building the wall ( ). In Berlin they made a wall 50 years ago, and you all know that was the cold war ...
