Are they legitimate choices? Any notion of third party candidate is like lumping together paralympics with the Olympics. No one takes the former seriously.

It has to be viable choice to count. Not just get a gold star for showing up but never get anything but that because you operate outside the machinery thst only accepts the duality and nothing else.

They are not legit choices, you can't have a legit choice anymore, someone like JFK would never run for office today, game too dirty

Andy seems to be labouring under the delusion that Bill Clinton is running for President. ::lol3::
No, dummy. It's the double standards at play. Liberals love Bill Clinton, while at its core he's probably just as demented as Trump, if not more.

It's seriously crazy that Americans are ok with not getting choices in a democracy, not a lot like others, but they can't even get a 3rd choice? And you put up with it, because why, tradition? Just leads to easily shaped oligarchy with no possibility of grass roots politics springing up as genuine opposition.

The media and two parties don't allow third party candidates to participate in the debates unless they have something like 10% in the polls. Guess who conducts the polls -- they do. The country has been hijacked by special interest and both parties need to be destroyed. In some ways, this election might be just what the doctor ordered. The problem is the population that votes Democrat isn't smart enough to see their party is a huge part of the problem. They've become the new Republicans -- control freaks and agenda pushers.

Not really. There are other reasons people would support Trump
Aside from the reasons he mentioned, the main reason people support Trump is paranoia and conspiracy about some Obama (and now Clinton) agenda to turn America into some third world Banana Republic.

These people talking about how broken America is, how terrible life is there, the dead American dream, America getting fucked this way and that by everyone else.... it's utter nonsense and makes them sound like imbeciles.

Is America perfect? No. But Trump and his shills need to shut the fuck up with this nonsense that America is in the shitter. The vast majority of the world would love to live in this shitter.

Under Obama the trade deficit has gone down, illegal immigrants have gone down, jobs have been created, unemployment has dropped below historical norm, stock market has improved, etc.

America has its problems but it's lunacy to suggest the country is in some kind of disastrous state.

Road to hell is paved with good intentions, he's imo a liberal trump without the bravado and 3rd grade vocab, he's just as clueless
Okay but at least he's apparently a good guy.

I suppose for a lot of people life is terrible.

Anyway they could simply just think that Hillary is worse than Trump. I mean she has been involved (directly or indirectly) in a lot of destruction and death around the world for example.

So has every single President in modern American history...

Well I'm not supporting Trump, but I mean Hillary is just evil
I'm not a Hillary fan either, but how is she more evil than George W? George H W? Or Reagan? Or Nixon? Or Johnson? Or Truman? Etc.? She's a career politician and is really not all that different from others in both parties. As I said, all these presidents presided over bloodshed around the world. I don't really see what makes her somehow a more evil option?

The only couple presidents that weren't so involved in this crap were Ford and Carter and both of them were completely incompetent.

As X said, it takes a certain inner callousness to be a career politician that has presidential aspirations.
