For me, it usually been a great thing, since childhood. Because I wouldnt know of some many kick ass classic movies without him. Wouldnt have seen everything Clint Eastwood has done (especially westerns), even know of who the heck Charles Bronson is (angel of death on celluloid...kept asking "dad, why is he still beating that man AFTER he is dead?" ), and lots of other kickass mofos.
