The Count of Monte Cristo was a decent adaptation. Of course it’s not really possible to fit this in a 2-3h movie and it felt rushed as hell, but other than that + the fact that the people in the 2nd part of the story looked too young and pretty, I liked it :D

I saw "Presence" in cinema. The ending was a really nice twist which I won't spoil here. Overall I enjoyed the film.

It's basically a haunted house mystery/family drama - not really a horror movie.

The film feeds out small scraps of exposition while inviting you to absorb the creepiness of the atmosphere they’re creating. All the action is contained inside the house and Soderbergh deliberately keeps us at arm’s length.

He shot the movie with a small handheld camera, from the POV of the ghost, with the camera moving throughout the house as the apparition. Soderbergh wore martial arts slippers while sliding around the house “as a ghost” to make as little noise as possible while manning the camera.

Just finished Challengers

I thought it was brilliant.

Only watched it because Trent Reznor did the soundtrack assuming he wouldn't be involved in something that wasn't cool.

Id place it in my top 3 movies from 2024. Probably only 2nd behind Furiosa (I'm a biased Mad Max fan)

I think I'm the only one who don't enjoy watching today movies!
I enjoyed old school movies growing up in the 90 I still enjoying them but I barely find a good one from new brand movies.

I just saw Black Bag in cinema. It's fantastic!

I love how it's only 93 minutes and the film doesn't waste your time. In the hands of an inexperienced director this would have been 2.5+ hrs with unnecessary chase sequences and gunfights.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I want to see more of in theaters. It’s an adult spy thriller, it’s sexy, it’s smart, it’s efficient, and it’s a fascinating watch. So much of it is hidden in microexpressions and small interactions between characters. It wastes no time as everything everyone does is worth scrutinizing and you know the main character is doing that the whole time. First scene is that Fassbender is told there’s a mole and here’s a list of names. Second scene, get them all in a room and shake it up! It just gets right into it and doesn’t let up for a second until the final moment.

I really enjoyed the score too - excellent use of chimes, bells and other percussions.

Steven Soderbergh has had a great 2025 with this and the Presence movie earlier in the year.

I just checked the trailer, it looks fucking awesome, and with that cast too.
