I get the same way with it. It's what I call the enlightenment moment. Usually it's realized for me in the scene after Chris Cooper has his melt down but before Annette Benning blows his brains out.

Watched American Beauty for the second time in my life. The first was during my 2nd year of highschool.

First time left me incredibly depressed, this time around it left me incredibly high spirited.

Has anyone here saw "The Deer Hunter"? Most of you probably have, it's considered to be one of the best films in Drama/War genre. I've been planning to watch it for a long time, but I don't know what has been keeping me from doing it. Honest opinion would be appreciated.

Yes, it is a great film. Keep in mind that the first part of it can feel slow to some. However, the first part is in there for a reason. You will find out why when you have watched the second half.
