I'm plowing my way through this year's Oscar-nominated films. Parasite, The Irishman, American Factory and recently Les Miserables (2019) are my favorites so far, but I think it's quite a strong year in general. Les Miserables, in particular, left a really strong impression on me. Super gritty, hard-hitting film: Training Day meets City of God/La Haine or something like that.
I have to say though, that for a short film, Brotherhood is really, really good. It's a great story with some interesting twist and turns along the way, and it's immaculately filmed. If you have 25 minutes to spare, it's well worth the watch:
