Yeah, it was a real letdown with the alien shootout. The movie was great exactly because it was such a small, intense chamber play. The ending was anything but that. But up until the ending I thought it was great. I loved how ambiguous and intense it was. Goodman was great. You were never sure if he was a lunatic or a decent guy. The uncertainty of how he was going to react to anything was so unnerving.

The original ending, however, would have been much better: http://collider.com/10-cloverfield-lane-ending-original/
Meh, I guess that other ending would be nicer but still a bit disappointing. Goodman did a fantastic job as he usually does. The higher point of the movie was exactly that, it constantly tried to trick the viewer into thinking he was either good or bad, a liar or telling the truth, not that he WAS bad and WAS right at the same time (Remember he mentioned aliens, martians or whatever), which was what we learned by the end.

An ambiguous ending would probably have been the best, but that would almost have been too easy. But I dunno. It's almost impossible to come up with a satisfying ending.

One that would satisfy everybody... yeah that's probably impossible. But something more meaningful and darker could have worked like a charm. Even if we were still to get a monster, make it terrifying not something out of a Firefly episode. :D

I'm actually looking forward to the upcoming Damon Jason Bourne - should be some more harmless fun.

Stuff I liked recently:
Nightcrawler (about a sociopath)
A Hard Day - completely over the top tense

a psychological drama would not be bad
Maybe one of these:

Ex Machina
Prisoners
Under the Skin
Her
Wild Tales
Whiplash

And while not a movie, Mr. Robot is a great tv-series that you might like.

Prisoners sounds like Taken
It definitely isn't. Not a lot of action and much more psychological.

I like your suggestions. Thanks, Vø!

Unemployment is a bliss huh? :D Do you still eat sandwiches?
Unemployment while being young-ish is very hard imo. Especially if it's tough to get any job. It's not gonna be easy.

But I believe it's better than being tortured.

I eat less sandwiches nowadays :D

You should keep your options open and try to move to a foreign country if need be. Leaving your hometown maybe a bit scary, but it's easier when you are younger. The older you get, the harder it is to settle elsewhere.
Also, use your free time to learn new skills. Recently I met a lady in my company who majored in arts or something. She realised she wasn't getting a good job in her field,so she did a 3 months networking course. She then convinced an interviewer in a small firm to give her a job over others who were computer science grads and now works at one of the biggest networking companies in the world.

With a gun? :D

At this point I open to options, unlike before, I'd consider a bunch of stuff. I'll try to settle things with this company, settle my head, and then see where the next station is. Learning new skills is surely on the wish-list.

Ah, no. I'd rather say it was a bad job but good experience. I learned a lot, whether it comes to technology or people. It was also good to feel the job atmosphere and everything related to it. It changed me and not in a bad way I think. I also met a lot of great people and I'll stay in touch with some
