I thought with sarriball we're supposed to be crushing weaker Serie A sides 4-0 on the regular while watching stunning, revolutionary, attacking, wildly entertaining football
To be fair everything but finishing was exactly that today. 21 shots(10) with nearly 70% possession and 667 passes and 13 corners. Compared to Spal with 332 passes and 32 %possesion with 5 shots and only 1 on target. This is also coming on a game when 3 of our starting 4 defenders were injured and we brought in Rabiot who isnt on form and Can who hasnt played yet.

Will we build on this to be better in front of goal? I hope so because we will need to put teams away early and often if we are to go far in the CL. We should have had 4-5 goals in most of our games just off high percentage chances.

Do you watch the games or just look at stats?
I go by xPoints. And ours are really low this season. Right @Kyle :lol3:

In all seriousness, this was a good game from us, but we've been pretty putrid scraping wins in the league before this one. And no, we definitely should not have had 4-5 goals against Viola, Brescia, Hellas, or Parma.

Sarri: 'I haven't watched Inter'
By Football Italia staff

Maurizio Sarri acknowledged Juventus had to move the ball quicker against SPAL, with special praise for Emre Can and Blaise Matuidi, but claims he hasn’t watched Inter at all.
The Bianconeri won 2-0 this afternoon with goals from Pjanic and Cristiano Ronaldo, although only a series of Etrit Berisha super saves prevented a rout.
“We had a few difficulties finding the right tempo in the opening stages, especially as SPAL were so clammed up. It wasn’t the tempo of the players as the ball, we moved the ball too slowly and there wasn’t enough movement off the ball,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was better in the second half, we created many chances and conceded very few. I was very happy with Matuidi’s performance in this new left-back role and also pleased with the determination shown by the players who came off the bench.
“Squad rotation is important, but so is the fact Emre Can came on with that attitude and determination after his great disappointment (of not being in the Champions League squad). He can be a very useful player for us this season.”
Pjanic not only got a goal, but had 124 touches, so is getting closer to the 150 passes per game that Sarri had asked for in pre-season.
“I told him he needs another 25 to meet the promise! Pjanic is improving a great deal in the number of touches and the vertical passes he is coming out with.”

Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala had a rare start together today, as Gonzalo Higuain was rested.
“Against Verona, I think we didn’t play well and Hellas did very well. We were different at Brescia, showed more character, more quality in our passing and many more chances.
“Dybala gives us quality and more solutions going forward. Cristiano Ronaldo was lively today and created four or five scoring opportunities, while Higuain has been doing well this season.
“It’s good to have three forwards where any combination you choose, you can’t really go wrong.”
Juventus will face Inter in a top of the table showdown next weekend, but Sarri made a surprising revelation.
“I haven’t actually watched any Inter games this season, as we’ve focused mainly on the teams we are facing next. Tonight, we’ll watch a couple of Bayer Leverkusen matches and then go to dinner.
“I hear that Inter are playing very well, I had no doubt they would considering the quality of the Coach and their players. I always said this would be a far more balanced season.”

It must be an OCD thing. You know, similar to having to suck down 2 packs a day
I mean, surely Mire was gonna pass the ball anyway if he thinks it's worth it. Why the 150 obsession? Just for the sake of it? Can't force good passing opportunities.

People used to fap at that stat in Peps Xavi-Iniesta Barcelonas heyday. Each game i was hearing how many passes they made
How many of them useless 2 meter sideway passes?

Sarri wants him to be more involved in our build up.Pjanic tends to hide sometimes during games.
So More touches and passes make sure he is always involved and available.

Now the team is taking a direction. This 41212 scheme absolutely maximizes the resources we have, except for Douglas Costa - who is always injured anyway.

It's encouraging to see that Sarri is able to adapt the formation to the players, and not force his 433 up. To me, both Ronaldo and Dybala work better in a 2 men offense, in this instead of 3.

The trequartista position is perfect for Ramsey and Bernardeschi. Pjanic is playing his best football since he arrived and his absolutely fundamental.

Cuadrado also fits very well as a right back in this scheme, where we need depth to be provided from fullbacks. He's doing much better than I thought.
