His mistake wasn't when the counter already happen but when Dybala had the ball he was nowhere near Chiellini. Is it that hard to understand?
It would be easier to play offside trap if he stayed near Chiellini
Except it wouldn't have been an offside behind the center line. Now that is easier to understand.

Dummy of the year :sergio:
De Ligt had to stand near the kick off spot, this would have forced Pavoletti to drop lower to the left into the free zone between De Ligt and Danilo, now look at Marin - in situation like this he would have never risked to send long ball into that zone isince he would see that Pavoletti would be covered by De Ligt and Danilo who is tracking back. But instead DL fell asleep and its fucked up the whole defensive line movement for us.

The counter would have been offside if the defense hold their line. It was poor defensive organization
Exactly. If you tell the defence to hold the line it's less of a chance of players getting out of position when you contain them you can get caught off guard and having to backpeddle all the way to our own goal.

Some people watch football for 20 years but still can't understand simple things about it
Even here DL's positioning is bad because if it wasn't slow Pavoletti but speedy player like Mbappe then Marin could have send a long ball and it would have been an easy 1on1 with GK

That is exactly the kind of difficult pass the defender wants him to play. He and Szczesny both cover a part of that space and only a perfect ball reaches the target. But I guess it's fifa22 logic here.

"If it was Mbappe". Really? You play considering the attributes and quality of the players you are actually facing. De Ligt knows Pavoletti is not beating him in a foot race.

His positioning has been off at times this season but not in the above. You want your centre back in line with the near post when covering crosses from that area as it gives the best chance to intercept any ball in and if the attacker gets in front of you they are at a tight angle from the goal to make anything happen. He is pretty much perfectly in line with it. If he stands closer to Pavoletti it leaves half the goal open if he was to nick in front of him.

It would take an unreal pass from the guy in possession to be able to play a perfectly weighted ball just far enough away from an area where De Ligt could react and close enough for Pavoletti to get contact with. From a percentages point of view it is far more likely that the ball that would be played would be dealt with in his current position.

#deLigt could become the new captain of #Juventus next season. It would be a strong signal, specially on the mercato. Raiola does not exclude a departure in the summer, but the Dutch is happy in Turin. The bianconeri are working on the renewal of the contract that ends in 2024, and the scenario could only change in front of an offer of 90/100Mln€.

He was the one that passed to Chiellini before Chiellini passed to Dybala. Dybala was stupid to receive the ball and then dribble sideways anyway

He shared the blame for sitting to deep though.
The counter would have been offside if the defense hold their line. It was poor defensive organization
Yes that's normally what happens but MDL staying deep is jihadball giving option for pass back in case midfield is pressed because they got no clue how to turn their man or play out of it in such scenarios but to pass it all the way back and recycle possession.

Man, he's doing these childish mistakes with poor positioning again and again, it's unbelievable

And here he sits WAY TOO DEEP and creates onside for Pavoletti and for other Cagliari's players :sergio:
asdasd.jpg

How did it happen? well he fell asleep at his own half when Dybala was with the ball but people will still praise him ofc since he's a golden boy

Sandro, Rabiot, Arthur, Bentancur are scapegoats but golden boy DL is untouchable even even despite the fact that we've conceded a numerous of a goals because of him
Maybe he will become a world class defender in the future, but for now he has nothing on demiral or Romero.
He just doesn't justify his buy price or wages.
Sell, buy Bremer and a left back with the money and we have a stronger squad overall.

Getting extorted by fat man once more:lol:
Watch him leave the season right after his demands were met.
