"Generational talent" :touched:
To be fair, de Ligt was really good last year and probably one of Bayern best players. He's just been injured a lot this season. The problem for him is, at a club like Bayern, your starting spot isnt always waiting for you when you come back from injury. You're going to have legitimate competition.

Look at what we are building back up. Chiesa is one of our best players. 2 months ago, he'd walk right back into the starting XI after an injury because he had little competition. With someone like Yildiz emerging, all of a sudden, if he cant stay healthy and misses time, his starting spot is in the air.

It's a nice problem to have.

de Ligt lost his job due to injuries in summer and early in the season and never really got his chance to overtake 2 very good CBs that established themselves as a pairing

He got his way back into the lineup due to injuries/Minjae being at the Asian Cup, and he's now been a regular starter for nearly 2 months and performing very well. And Upamecano and Minjae are now the guys on the bench now need to try to fight their way back into the starting 11, as the de Ligt/Eric Dier pairing has been excellent
