SMACKDOWN/ECW IN TURIN, ITALY LIVE REPORT

Hi guys, I attended the SmackDown!/ECW house show earlier tonight in Turin and I wanted to send you a little report of the evening, if you don't mind.

The Palaisozaki was pretty full, just about 100-200 seats from sold-out, a very strong crowd of about 10,000 people.

In the opening contest Lashley defeated William Regal by spear in about 7 minutes.

The second match put Gregory Helms against Matt Hardy in a non-title match, with Hardy picking the win via Twist of Fate in about 10 minutes.

The third match was supposed to be a "Best Body Contest" between Layla, Michelle McCool and Kristal but it never happened because Matt Striker (after making fun of Turin and Juventus F.C., one of the local soccer team recently relegated in second division after a match fixing scandal) bitched and moaned about no ECW in the contest...and he got the Sandman, who came out, beat the crap out of him with his Singapore cane and posed with the Juventus F.C shirt and the girls.

Kane then defeated MVP via Chokeslam in a short match with lots of stalling by MVP, about 6 minutes long.

Paul London and Brian Kendrick retained their WWE Tag Team titles when they defeated Idol Stevens and KC James in a 12 minutes match, which was restarted by Theodore Long after an illegal pin (and supposed title change) by the challengers.

CM Punk defeated Mike Knox by submission with the Anaconda Vice in about 10 minutes.

Undertaker defeated then Mr. Kennedy in a very long match, about 25 minutes, with lots of offense by Mr. Kennedy and even blood by Taker after Kennedy hit him with a microphone.

After intermission, Rob Van Dam defeated Paul Heyman in a very fun Extreme Rules match (fought for the most part by Paul Heyman's security) via Frog Splash through a table after Sandman came out and hit Heyman with his Singapore cane. After the match Sandman literally irrigated the first row with beer celebrating with Van Dam.

Chris Benoit defeated Chavo Guerrero and retained the WWE United States Championship with the Crippler Crossface in about 9 minutes.

Tatanka def. Funaki via Samoan Drop in the sleeper of the night, and it lasted only 6 minutes.

And finally, in the main event, King Booker retained his World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat elimination match against Batista and Finlay when he was disqualified by hitting Batista with a low blow. Previously in the contest Finlay was eliminated by Batista after a spinebuster.

All in all, a fun wrestling night (with very tight security, a first for us Italians but a very good test for the Milan Raw/SmackDown! tapings of next April) and again good money for WWE.

Is there any relationship between the Sandman and Juve, and why does that Matt Striker have that hatred for Juve??

Sandman probably wore the Juve shirt as he is friendly with the crowd and since it was in Turin he wore the more popular shirt. While Striker thinks he is clever and usually football is associated with stupid people so he probably made fun of them. Thats my 2 cents :p
