The man speaks the truth. Sarah Palin is nothing more than a distraction.
Actually, she's a lot more than a distraction. This realization came to me a week ago.

At first, I was like, "Too much bull%$## about Palin."

    And then I got it...

McCain would have rather chose Lieberman as a running mate. He knows him. He's experienced. But the RNC shot that dead. Gotta have pro-choice in there. Gotta have this or that political allegiance.

Then looking at Ms. Palin, it becomes clearer. Like George Bush speaking like a puppet with Dick Cheney's hand up his ass, the RNC wants an empty vessel they can program as a front for their agenda. Better if the candidate is perceived as politically weak themselves (no crony network for them to turn to in case they dare want to start making independent decisions) and without a history -- they can make and fashion her into what they want, and all she has to do is be the Star Search spokesmodel for the RNC.

There are so many RNC arms up Ms. Palin's ass right now, it's like a proctologists' convention in her pants.

Palin is just the Republican's version of Chauncey Gardener -- as played by Peter Sellers in the awesome 1980 flick, "Being There".

Absolute truth. They just want another bunch of puppets, so an old fart and a nobody does the trick nicely.
