I genuinely think we are one world class midfielder away from becoming an elite team in Europe, someone like Kroos, or a fit Marchisio.
Two World class midfielders needed although we're already an elite team. Increased competition in midfield is something this team sorely lacks

There's a nice balance to a Matuidi-Pjanic-Marchisio midfield, and for competition all we need is some promising youngsters like Bentancur and Torreira.

We generally sit back and play conservative football, hoping to grind out results when we are up against Bayern/Real/Barca. If we do try to attack, we run out of steam quickly.

Why are you so sure about it? Claudio doesn't have legs anymore, he is not the same Claudio whom Lippi used as AM. And when you play him at a b2b position you're removing his other best traits - great positioning, anticipation, and ability to dictate tempo.

Yeah, that was under the hypothetical assumption that Claudio is 100% fit again.

We need a player in midfield who can carry the ball forward, Kroos would be a dream signing. More realistic targets would be Goretzka, Kovacic or SMS.

Then why do we need to bridge the gap with napoli and merda? For example, and I still stand by my prediction that we will try to bridge the gap with tottenham in february so to speak.
Allegri kinda over does it. IIRC, Conte's Juve used to take the game to Serie A clubs. Allegri is more conservative in his approach than Conte no doubt about that.

Depends on how you define elite. If its by results then we are already an elite team in Europe. Regularly winning doubles, reached a couple of CL finals and we are a team everyone wishes to avoid like the plague.

If you define elite as squad quality on paper then I think we are still well below the squad quality of Madrid, Barca, Bayern & now PSG too.

Players like Cuadrado, Douglas Costa, Mandzukic and current form Higuain (really hope he didnt regress already) and Dybala would be warming the bench for any of those 3 clubs.

We used to be better in defense but now most of these are better than us on paper even in defense.

Guys, I would like to look a the bigger picture and apologize if I talked too much sheet about allegri. I had a discussion with @Alin and this is what I conclude. I paint u a scenario:

Maybe Juve management drew up a 10 years plan for 2010 - 2020 that aims for something like that:
2010-2012 (league top four)
2013-2015 (league winner and champs league 1/4)
2016-2017 (league winner and champs league semi)
2018-2020 (league winner and try to win ECL)

Looking back to 2010, we can only be grateful with our current status as we have surpassed the above plan.

Maybe management and allegri has agreed that it is too early to put resources into winning ECL at this moment, as we are spending money and time to develop the J brand.

Leon is a true professional, always nice with everyone and beloved everywhere. just like our dear Sami
Seriously though, don't we have very minimal chances of getting this guy. We're not even linked with him, even if we are interested I doubt that the interest will be reciprocated.

We should just get that Pereira guy from Porto who had 25mil buyout clause
