That's on Vlahovic and a marginal offside call tbh, would be a big win. But obviously loads to improve on. The slacking off is a classic thing even the dominant Allegri teams did and it is very annoying.
"Di Maria did it all" comments are funny, that's precisely what he is supposed to do, provide assists. It's not surprising to see a difference in quality between Di Maria and McKennie when they get into position to make a final pass. Allegri doesn't control the quality of either player, he picks them, and McKennie seems to be a current favourite for some reason. But we had different openings tonight as Maccabi tried to play. CL football is often like that, Serie A not so much as teams defend deeper and counter more.
When a player has good stats under Allegri they save his ass with individual efforts. When they struggle Allegri ruins them.
When Vlahović wasn't scoring it was we don't create enough for him. When we do create and he misses it's focusing on the defense and how a real team would score 10 goals against us.
When we don't win against bad teams even it's 'you don't need Mbappe to win against Samp', but tonight is the prime example of how you do sometimes. Because there's no chance in hell Cuadrado or any other offensive player makes one assist Di Maria did tonight from open play, let alone 4-5 of them. And then you'd have people here saying Allegri doesn't let them go forward, doesn't know any patterns, we cannot create anything because of him etc. but it shouldn't take a miracle worker to make the simplest passes in space and just make an effort.
That's what I've been saying here from the start - it's a shared blame - but the stalkers and throating (whatever that is) fanatics don't have common sense.
Thankfully they're at least trying to fix it now together - players and the coach. They didn't give up, that's the most important thing
