this season, benatia played 5 matches against lowly teams like cagliari or bologna. (and milan :D ) i wonder whether caceres will get 200 minutes. he can do that against frosinone and spal i guess.

i agree that benatia is a huge loss. if it was up to me, he'd be our 2nd-3rd choice cb, depending on the opponent.
6 matches, yo. He also played YB in CL, the version we won. 540 minutes by November 11th. But then didn't play again after that. He was also in the line-up recently but picked up an injury in warmups.

Anyone actually justifying this deal. Love Caceres but come on , the guy barely played in the last couple of season. We are completely fucked if either Bonucci and Chiellini get injured. Benatia had been dealt very poorly with, both by management and coach and both deserve blame.

But you can justify why benatia forced a move. Nobody here is saying they'd swap benatia for caceres if they had the choice. The problem is we had no choice and made the most out of a non ideal situation

We totally had a choice. First and foremost Benatia should have been dealt with much better. He was a starter last season and did not deserve to be benched as often this season. Second, management should be capable of refusing a deal like this you know, especially if it might hurt us later if any of our starters get injured. The guy has a contract and should have been told that it's not possible to sell right now.

Let's get this straight. I doubt very much paratici would have let benatia go without having spoken to allegri first. Secondly the club already told the player several times we need him to remain this season and in the summer he can go, but when a so called professional player who is under contract is making passive aggressive statements attacking the club and the management do we really have much choice then? There's a fine line between a player wanting to go but can wait a few months till the summer and another who is doing almost anything possible to get out asap. Benatia falls under the latter imo and that's why I can accept seeing him go, not that I wanted him gone but it's clear allegri had very little use for him this season and his sale if anything is a sign of faith in rugani who is now at least clear 3rd choice.

But you never accepted that reason before. You called marotta weak, claimed the difference between him and paratici was "player stays full stop", even giggled to yourself just yestetday that paratici could bitch slap benatia into staying. Yesterday!

Suddenly paratici lets him leave, not jhst that but a necessary 3rd CB and mid season (beppe NEVER let a needed player leave mid season) and you are defending it! Now for some reason you are saying his hands were tied. Its maddening

Also sold Benatia for 10mil less than we paid for him.

Beppe meanwhile managed to sell players like Rincon (9mil) and Hernanes (10mil). He even managed to get Matri loaned back to us with Milan paying half his salary after selling him there for 11mil, and Matri won us Coppa Italia.

Guess it never came to mind that maybe Beppe didn't set ALL of Juve's transfer policy. That maybe someone a little higher up decided to define the Juventus way in regards to transfer dealing.

This will still need explaining by the time Paratici's replacement is in his third year at the club.

1. This move sucks. From selling and handling the whole Benatia situation to replacing him with a corpse

2. Its hilarious and a little bit sad watching Badass trying to defend Paratici for the same things he religiously bashed Marotta for, for years

3. We sold Caldara to get rid of Higuain apparently, who we got back 6 months later, and then got rid of again without having to sell anyone

With hindsight losing Caldara is pretty bad. We should have went with straight cash for Bonucci and keep the kid, we knew our backline is ageing at that time as well. Milan might have killed his career.

Caldara has hardly played a match this year. Was 3rd choice to Romagnoli and Musacchio (because he couldn't figure out how to play in a back 4 apparently), and then long-term injured.

Wouldn't have been much help here. :p

They conceded at least a goal in all of their games. Gatusso is an idiot coach. Im surprised he hasnt been fired yet.
