Giuseppe Marotta believes Juventus will need to be even stronger this season in order to defend their 2011/12 title.
The club director was in Saint-Vincent this afternoon to see Antonio Conte’s men proudly displaying the Scudetto on their shirts, but warned that the resurgent Bianconeri will no longer be a surprise package this season.
“We need to put the previous celebrations to one side,” he stated. “We now start from scratch. We’re the team to beat, everyone will give their all against us and we’ll need to have more desire than the others.”
Marotta hopes the club’s return to the pre-season facilities used in Val d’Aosta from 1994 to 2003 will serve as a good omen as the Bianconeri enter a promising new era.
“The new season has got off to a good start on pre-season in Chatillon/Saint-Vincent, a place that takes us back in time. Juventus built many important successes here and we’ll look to emulate them.”
