Vanderlei Luxemburgo, the Real Madrid coach, will be sacked tonight, according to reports in Spain on Sunday. The sports daily AS revealed on it's website that vice-president Emilio Butragueno and sporting director Arrigo Sacchi have reached a decision to terminate the Brazilian's contract.

According to AS, a meeting was held from on Sunday morning, where the directors agreed that the best way forward for the club was to end Luxemburgo's contract.

Until Real find a coach to see the club through the rest of the season, the responsibilty will of caretaker manager will be given to Lopez Caro.

It is not the first time I am saying that, if not Madrid that's winning the CL, it is Arsenal. Laugh all you want, that's my opinion...but be ready that I mock your opinions when see some.

Real, ok, but Arsenal?! The times I've seen them this year they have really been poor.

thing is Arsenal can concentrate on the cl entirely now, since they are well out of the title race.

I must say I think this is pretty hard on luxemburgo. At the end of the day a team with no defence is never gonna win things bar an almighty fluke or the main opposition all just plain sucking (see brazil - wc 2002)

Before someone says to robby carlos and salgado that their primary objective is to defend ; woodgate is fully fit and they buy in a quality centre half & makelele replacement they will go on sucking

Well i watched Arsenal get slapped by Bolton yesterday, 2-0, and bolton are a uefa cup squad.
Well Arsenal have won all their games in their CL group this year. In saw Liverpool got slapped over and over in the EPL last year, but what did they do in Europe? Yes, you got it, they won the CL.

It seems you haven't seen Arsenal play in the CL this year.
I've seen them once, in their overtime victory over FC Thun, at home. I guess we just have different standards for what's impressive. :)

I am not talking about impressive here, for the past years not a single impressive team has won the Champions League. Last year is a perfect example.

I'm with Jeeks here; Arsenal are one of the teams I can see winning the CL.

As for Luxemburgo; that's a bit harsh, isn't it? Then again, with a budget and squad like that I suppose perfection is the limit and he didn't reach that
