Cristiano Lucarelli has admitted that he is unhappy at Livorno and is in talks with Juventus.
Last week, the Amaranto captain turned down a move to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg that would have seen him net a contract worth around £2m per year.
However, while club President Aldo Spinelli has been adamant that Lucarelli will stay, it now seems that the 30-year-old marksman may be ready to leave his hometown club and sign for the Bianconeri.
“I’m in talks with Juventus,” admitted Lucarelli. “It’s become difficult to stay at Livorno and I won’t rule out a move to Juve. Spinelli has said that I’m not for sale, but without motivation and empty inside I’m no use to anybody.”
Lucarelli is already familiar with Turin having played for Juve’s city rivals Torino between 2001 and 2003, before making his dream move to Livorno where he has scored 53 goals in 76 games.
While he will surely be reluctant to leave his beloved Livorno, it seems that Lucarelli’s desire to play for one of Italy’s giants, and his tempestuous relationship with Spinelli may drive him away from the Armando Picchi.
Rumours suggest that Juve may table a sizeable part exchange bid with Croatian defender Igor Tudor heading to Livorno.
The Bianconeri may face competition from Bayern Munich – who are said to be lining up an approach - but remain favourites to get their man, as Lucarelli is reluctant to leave Italy.
Despite relegation to Serie B following the Calciopoli verdict, Juve are building a fearsome front line.
The Old Lady have already signed Bulgarian youngster Valeri Bojinov, recalled Raffaele Palladino from Livorno and look set to keep Alessandro Del Piero.

Question is, DO WE NEED HIM?
