FFS, I start biting in thin air every time I see that avatar.

I don't think Eriksson is the man we need. Neither is Lippi. Both of them are well established coaches and they don't seem all that motivated. Especially Lippi, which is more than understandable as the man has won pretty much everything there is to win.

It's why I liked Deschamps in the first place: he was young and looked like he could provide Juventus a stable future. We all know Lippi can't promise long term commitment. If we go for someone like Vialli and it turns out well, we might actually be able to build something great.

Whoever our next coach might be, he'll need time and I hope the board of directors is willing to give him that time. The fans'd better do the same IMO.
Ferguson at Manchester United seems to have an endless appetite. Winning simply seems to be addictive to him - why not others?

Me At Juventus? Pure Utopia – Conte

Antonio Conte denies links with Juventus, and prioritizes Arezzo's safety in Serie B.

Didier Deschamps got 'axed' by Juventus (pretty much, if not technically) two days ago, a decision that seemed rather shocking for most (Juve fans or not) considering Deschamps' positive spell in Serie B.

Many new names have come up as to who could be Deschamps' successor at Juve. Initially, many believed ex-Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi to be the primary candidate for a move to Juventus.

Lippi has since dismissed rumours about him returning to handle coaching duties for the Old Lady, and now reports suggest that ex-Juve player Antonio Conte is among the candidates.

Antonio Conte is currently coaching Serie B side Arezzo and, has declared that rumours linking him to Juve are false.

"Me at Juve? That’s pure utopia," he said. "Right now, I am only thinking of helping Arezzo maintaining safety in the Serie B, that’s all I have to say."

CR

so basically the conte till the first of jan 2008 and then lippi takes charge has just been ruled out as an option.

Conte's rumor is pure crap.. Conte can't manage Juventus at the moment, he needs to have a success first with other clubs, very risky to bring him at the moment, unless the board will continue it's tradition, firing coaches every year :pumpkin:

Mate, I think we should get over him because we need a new blood with some motivation.

Somebody who can stand up against the management's silly acts.
No doubt about the "we need new blood"..
But, right now we need something more important then new blood, we need to come back on top very fast, and we cant do that by going with a new and young coach.. We need a coach that would make Gigi wanna stay here with us.. We need a coach that will make new bigname players wanna join us.. Thats what I think...

And Lippi will for sure stand against the managments silly acts!...

Blanc says he wants Lippi immediately with Juventus, for whatever role. Preferably as coach, as leader.

yeah I just read that too. He also explained that Didier asked the transfer controls and that's is his job and not Didier's (something like that). This just means he wasn't sure of Didier's, and hinting that if it was Lippi, he would leave that (transfers) to him. Well sure Didier can't work in these circumstances..

What I hope with Lippi is that his past successes will actually help rather than hurt in leverage against Secco and crew. Didi comes in and makes demands, I get the feeling they dismissed him and told him to carry some water. Lippi comes in, someone who knows a serious amount of football and commands respect, they are more bound to listen.

Which is another reason why I think Lippi wouldn't be a good choice as a coach unless it's purely transitional until we get someone who can commit to a multi-year program of getting us back into Europe's elite. Instead, Lippi's focus should be as an insider in the team administration to teach the boys a few things about the game of football.

Lippi's list.
According to this article, Lippi has already made his wishes clear for the transfermarket:

- Buffon stays.

- In Defence, Barzagli is named. Zambrotta's return is not excluded. Boumsong will leave, Balzaretti's future is yet to be decided. Chiellini will stay.

- After the arivals of Mesto and Almiron, there are plans to bring big foreign names. Ribery and Lampard are possible targets.

- In attack Iaquinta will come, Bianchi is also a target. Trezeguet will be convinced to stay, if he decides otherwise, he could be swapped for Gilardino. Palladino will go on loan, with Zalayeta staying as 5th forward.

- Miccoli, Blasi and Tacchinardi will return, but their futures are yet to be decided.

The article goes on, that it's as good as certain that Lippi is coming to Juventus. It is only a question of when he comes. In case he decides to come aboard later, either Ferrara or Conte will serve as a 'ferryman' 'til Lippi returns.

I'm not sure how reliable all of this is though.

I'd love to believe that, but I still think he's acting.

He is smarter than accepting the job now because if he did it directly after DD jumped out, then he'll be accused by some fans to be participating in degrading DD, and he knows that he can do without such accusations. Just with little patience.
Maybe, very analytical and right way of assuming the facts. This is hopefully right, althought i do not want to think othervise.

but thats the correct answer !! :pumpkin:
:D

I like that spirit.

Man, reading up the end of A Season in Verona right now (how ironic that I finally stumble on the mention of Chievo's impending promotion to A in the book on the same day they demote to B), I'm taken with the idea of tifosi who revel in the cesspool of inappropriateness and audacious incorrectness.

And how more incorrect can you get than loving what Moggi did for this club?

Exactly 100% right.Moggi is one and only unchangenable ,ever,he can open a manager school and be a dean! .Hell of a master ,how I miss him.Juve will miss him a lot.He will not bring DD at first place, and if someone goes out from Juve,he would not wait a minute and will find twice better coach. This is real truth, not a joke!
Stop about fixing crap. Why do not someone points out that he was best football manager in the world.Juve with him got almost every player we wants, and ,almost for free,or when we sell them it was triple of the price payed for them,at least.
Moggi will never agree of hiring DD.
