i was wondering if anyone can help me out. i need to understand how to create file systems in Linux Solaris or redhat enterprise. i know the instructions but i just cant seem to get it through my head of how it all fits together. do i need a partition on the HD for a file system? or do i create a directory then use the mkfs instruction on it?..
