This is a fantastic interview, even if some of these players have big egoes that are hard to manage at times, you have to wonder, as great of a coach he is, wtf is wrong with Pep the man and his personality?

NFL Patriots Owner Reportedly Eyeing La Liga Side Sevilla

NFL New England Patriots Owner Robert Kraft is "reportedly interested in acquiring a stake" in La Liga side Sevilla, according to Jordi Blanco of ESPN.com. Kraft is said to be pursuing an investment through an organization called "Sevillistas Unidos 2020," which is looking to take a 40% share in the club. The news, reported by Spanish TV channel Cope, "takes into account the ongoing conflict between various groups surrounding the club." In recent months, the club "has received exorbitant offers for shares, including some worth up to $1,750 per share." Just "one year ago," the value of a share in Sevilla was $70. There was "initial speculation about a Chinese investor being behind these moves," but this was "never confirmed" (ESPN.com, 7/17). The Patriots did not respond to a request for comment (SBD Global).

Barcelona's men and women fly together, apart

https://en.as.com/en/2018/07/27/opinion/1532670360_205170.html

Life can be so unfair sometimes.

I disagree with the viewpoint that Madrid do it worse as they don't have a women's team. No one forces you to have a women's team. If my mates and I want to found a football club, it would be stupid to expect us to found a women's team too. That's one of the most moronic arguments I have in a long time. I hope they fire the writer and he never writes an article ever again.

That being said, absolutely dreadful behaviour from Barcelona.

Yeah, that part was weird.

Oh wait, you guys really think that's fucked up?
Of course. What Seven said, and monetarily the cost to Barcelona would be nothing.

You can't own a sports club and have one team fly business class while the other is in economy. This is a very obvious case of discrimination and yes, I think it is fucked up.
It's not a simple case of male employees receiving preferential treatment versus female employees. The men's team is obviously much more valuable to the club than the women's team, so it's not a given that everything the men get the women should as well.

But I understand that the cost difference between business and economy is nothing to Barca, so there's no reason the women's team shouldn't fly business too. I wouldn't call it discrimination though.

Not everything should be the same no. But things like decent training facilities or flying business class are pretty basic for a top club and surely the women's team are entitled to that too. And if you insist on having the women over for the same tour it looks even more ridiculous.

Yeah it looks bad, but don't make it about sexism.

It might be inequal, but it's definitely fair -- male players make a lot more money for the club so they should get better perks.

What Elvin said. If the women’s team can’t afford business class or state of the art training facilities, why should the men’s team pony up for it?

It’s like saying the B team should get the same perks as the senior team.

Barcelona Expects €200M-Plus For Naming Rights To Camp Nou

Barcelona "is continuing its effort find the best offer to put a name on its stadium," according to Roger Torelló of MUNDO DEPORTIVO. The club has "two possibilities that are pushing hard, one from a U.S. company and another from the Asian market." Though the club initially said its goal was to sign a naming rights deal for Camp Nou worth at least €200 million ($234M) over 10 years, Barcelona execs "now believe that circumstances have changed, and the price could be different." In fact, the club "is not considering any proposal that does not exceed" €200M. Though some of the stadium renovations are underway, "most of the project will begin next summer," and Barcelona wants to have a deal signed by the end of the upcoming season (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 7/30).
How much did Allianz pay for the naming rights to our building?
