He's on 14 caps to be exact. And apparently Anderlecht refused a 17 mil € offer from Sevilla for him. So if Moggi wants him he either should be prepared to pay a lot of money or start working is magic.
dont make me laughe!
he is worthed 200.000.
do you really think moggi is gowing to buy an uknow just a good player who play for anderlecht.
juventus doesent need just a good player juventus needs perfetc players like cannavaro viera zlatan , we buyed zlatan for 16 and we are gowing to buy kompany for 20
Please Gino. He's playing in the Belgian league, so what? does that mean that he sucks?
He has international and CL experience, he was invited twice for a gala match in Barcelona, and whole Europe is after him.
He's very promising. That's it. You can't say he has the class of Canna or Thuram yet, but he can still learn A LOT.
How old is he now? 19, 20? Knowing that a defender reaches his peak at, say 29-30, that still give him some time to improve, isnt'it?
geof and stephano come on pleas.
you know the belgium media if you listen tho them you even believe that THE RODE DUIVELS WERELDKAMPIOEN WORDEN!
KOMPANY 1Off the best! pleaaaaaaaaaaas ok he played a gala match ore 2 so what ? i have seen players at a gala match that i never seen before.
he played champions leageu with anderlecht yeaaaaaaaaaah great results 0 points cool
he is a great player only in micky mouse leageu i dont wanne see a belgium player in juventus because there is no belgium player on earth that can play good soccer sorry but this is the truth i have a abo on Racing genk and i love to watch the jupilair leageu but the truth is that its a amateur leageu.
sometime's brugge and anderlecht play good in europe only because the other teams played bad .
kompany to stay in anderlecht thats the best thing for him because than he will be consider as 1of the best players from belgium if he is gowing to leave than he will be back in 2years and than he isent any more 1of the best players of belgium just like gill de bilde and branco strupar.
the best thing was to just stay in belgium but they lost there so called talent in england but the truth is they have the talent of micky mouse.
Not the best example to support your claim that we do get carried away a little too easily. Where did you hear anythinng like it? This is fallacy of the first order and you know it!
Years of disappointing results have forced us, including the media, to stay humble as regards to the level of our national team... eventhough, yes, they've been keen on claiming that a new generation of young supposedly more gifted Belgian players was taking over the old guard and leading us to a berth next summer in Germany. Which was their (honest) mistake.

As far as I remember, they were eleven on the field... and yes, he accumulated a great deal of european cup experience, whether you like it or not. Last year wasn't his only shot at it, may I kindly remind you?

This isn't about belgian players being good or not. Our NT is another debate.
This isn't a debate about Anderlecht's performances in CL last year. 0/18. Indeed they sucked.
Nor is this a debate about the Belgian League. There is no comparison between its level and the level of the major european leagues.
We are talking about one single player. Vincent Kompany. The 19 years old defender.
I don't think you can disagree on the fact that he is the best defender of the league, and one of the best belgian defenders of the moment, together with Van Buyten and Simons, I guess.
Now, at 19 years, that is a huge achievement.
I agree with you when you say that it is a good thing that he stayed in Anderlecht. Don't burn himself, get some CL experience, take the time to think.
But he can't stay here forever. He has a huge potential and the only thing he can do is eventually choosing the right club for him. If he fails, then at least he tried. If he makes it, good for him, and for belgian players. That could open doors for others. What can he lose?
Personally, I would prefer him to go in Spain. Barça would be great. But that's only my personal choice.
