hmm , i'm glad that we are linked with another croat , but i'm not so sure about him, for a substitute player he is ok, but we need better than that

Chiellini,Legro,Mellberg and Andrade..do we need another back-up in CB? Only a new starter would make sense.

He will go to one of the smaller Serie A sides, or a Sampdoria at best. No way will he come to Juve or another big team. Spinelli must be trying to pimp him for better deal.

He's solid all-round defender. Done good for Croatia couple of times. He's not too tall but he's cocky and has a good sense of positioning. Similar type of player as Cannavaro.

EDIT,news from croatian press:

Anybody knows about this guy?

<Bianconeri capture Knezevic Saturday 21 June, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reports in both Italy and Croatia insist Juventus have completed a swoop for Livorno defender Dario Knezevic.

The news emerged overnight and has shaken up the Press on both sides of the Adriatic sea after director of sport Alessio Secco was spotted in Milan negotiating with Amaranto President Aldo Spinelli.

According to both the Corriere dello Sport and Sportske Novosti, Knezevic will move to Juve in a loan deal worth just £200,000.

In 12 months’ time the Bianconeri can buy out half his contract for £1m from recently relegated Livorno.

Knezevic did not take part in last night’s dramatic penalty shoot-out defeat to Turkey due to a knee injury that will keep the 26-year-old out of action for several weeks.

He is the second new defender to join the Turin giants after Olof Mellberg was picked up on a free transfer.

With Mellberg, Andrade, Chiellini and Legro, Knezevic will only be an emergency in case we find ourselves in the same situation like in the Coppa last season when we didn't have the cb's and we had to play Boumsong and later get Stendardo on loan.

In other words, he'll be a player who may get a Coppa match and maximum 1 or 2 more matches during the year.

For a fifth man in central defense he's more than ok and i have no objections, but the annoying part is that we're buying a fifth CB which would imply that we already have 4 cb's and we won't buy another one.

he comes on loan with buy-out clause of 1.5 millions apparently. Good deal imo. he seems to be fine, good age... from what i've read, we get him because we loaned them 2 youngsters (i didn't know them). All in all, fine deal. In a case of emergency, we'll be covered. Maybe even move chiellini out to left and use another CB. Good job i'd say.
