Monaco midfielder Olivier Kapo has admitted that he nearly joined Manchester United in January as a replacement for Roy Keane. However, the French international – who is owned by Juventus – has claimed that the move failed to materialise for reasons beyond his power. “The most serious trail was Manchester United – it was almost settled,” said Kapo. “I had my plane tickets to have the medical examinations on January 30 and sign the next day. But for darker reasons that happened behind my back, it was not settled. Now I am at Monaco I will work and then we will see. I never wanted to leave, people asked me to leave.”

just forget about him.. may be we could get some cash from ManU .. 5 Millions and he is ManUs
You know the thing with Kapo is, is that he has great potential but he seems to be a bit of a baby cause he needs constant praise & faith from coaches.

I suppose the english game would probably suit him better.

He is a great player I watched him a lot since he played with Auxerre,I wish we could get him back next season. The only reason Cap. let him go to France is because he wanted a Wc place & he knew that he wouldnt get it being a sustitute at Juve.

Because we send him there in a team he asked to be,
for the reason he would have to play first team football,
since he wasnt good enough to do this in Juve and already had a year benched in a very delicate age for improoving his skills,
IMO he lost the train now...

"a replacement for Roy Keane"
You laugh, but they're currently playing a sweeper and a striker in midfield because Scholes and Smith are both injured (and both converted strikers, while we're on the subject, though Scholes hardly counts now) and Fletcher is rubbish. They'd probably take a fairly average midfielder as a stopgap right now. There's also the possibility that Kapo would take well to the EPL and develop - clearly he has potential if he's on Juve's books, regardless of anything else.

I've watched many man utd games this season, scholes and smith have done well, fletcher hasn't been that bad, well i think we can do better than Kapo (Ballack perhaps) - maybe but he can't fill the great shoes of Roy Keane.

I totally agree man he is agreat player & his future will be great but he is not a deffensive midfielder he is mor a left wing,I saw him a lot with Auxerre before & he is reallt talented & he formed with Cisse & Kalou a great Attack for Auxerre in 2003
