On the contrary, I think it's a good move.

Benfica and Milan had spent the last month or so negotiating a deal with Santos, reported to be between 5-10M. Cherubini strolls in, signs a pre-contract with Kaio (which im certain was subject to conditions that Kaio leaves Santos in an amicable fashion) and now we have the bigger say in how much we want to pay for him. 1-2m should be enough to bring him in now and then Allegri can decide whether Kaio is good enough to loan out or to be geared up as our fourth striker.
