If you look at every game as, "what if this was UCL against a top side", and you realise how much trouble we're in.

We don't have a powerful presence about us, even against the weakest of teams. Our passing game is always safe and slow, with no real penetration. When we try penetrative passes, we inevitably lose the ball, even against these week teams.
You are so annoying

So you want us to play even more risky balls with a higher chance to lose the ball and destroy any kind of possession and confidence our players have to make this a crap fest of unsecure players unable to control balls ? It is sensible to keep possession and play it safe. Every second we keep the ball is a second we do not need to defend against the opponent. given our lack of defensive strength it is a good idea to play a riskless possession game tiring down our opponent. When the opponent constantly needs to run ofter the ball while we save energy keeping possession the opponent will tire earlier and commit more mistakes while our huge advantage in skill will make the difference when those mistakes occur. there is no need in forcing it, just because we play against SPAL, because even if it worked it would not work against better teams.

this can be a good opponent to build self confidence and gradually get to learn each others running lanes, so it comes more naturally against propper opponents.
