Ok first half, but again we've not looked like scoring and have looked like conceding.

This system does nothing for morata, mandzukic does nothing full stop, cuadrado has looked good. The midfield is missing someone that can win the ball back and the defence is giving away possession far more frequently than I can remember in the last 5 years.

Mandzukic should be subbed for dybala, with morata moved central. I though mandzu would be a good signing for us, but I've seen nothing at all from him that backs up my initial thoughts.

I just dont get why we have a 40 million euro player on the bench. Surely there must be a big miss-understanding between the management if he doesn't use him in our biggest game of the season so far?

I'm really surprised how silent Hernanes was. Agreed, midfield needs an upgrade. We'll probably sub Sturaro but who yo put? Lemina? Debut in such important game hmm.
Me too. I think it's the 4-3-3 and having him play deep instead of in an attacking role. It's not his best position. We really miss Marchisio (not to mention Vidal's energy)...

Lemina has that toughness and energy... And then Pereyra is also an option if we want to play more attack-minded. Lemina for Sturaro would be somewhat like for like in terms of defensive playing style, although I haven't seen enough of Lemina to be sure about that. Pereyra could be the option to give us something more linking the mid to the forwards.

Decent half, notably better than our Serie A games, we seem like we have a structure.

Pogba much improved but still losing the ball too often

Sturaro has been very good defensively but terrible with the ball. His tackle when Cuardrado and Licht were caught upfield near the end of the half was superb.

Morata has been poor, he needs to keep the ball better.

Pogba also needs to improve his passing, and Morata was the worst player on the field.

Also it's great to finally have a player on the flank that can actually cross

Who was that stupid fuck who almost cost a goal around 3rd minute?

Sturaro? Hernanes?

Anyway Sturaro out, he is useless.

And we were robbed a goal, that wasn't offside.

Well we are starting to look like us. I like it how organized we are and the team fight. I like it. When the injured players come back (Marchisio, Kwado, Khed) we will look even better.

I see the 4-3-3 is doing its work.
except its not 4-3-3...
We are playing our usual diamond formation only with Cuadrado as one of the mid trio although he plays it differently...
On paper Hernanes is behind the forwards but its different on the field...
Morata plays half as an attacking midfielder Cuadrado is both wide and center Hernanes position is behind the forwards but play a bit more defensively
I think Allegri did a great job to prepare the team (judging from this half alone)

Also too bad Morata tried to get the ball as Pogba was onside and we could have been 1-0 up should he left it from offside position
