Marotta's comments:

We are still in a delicate phase of the mercato, we need to take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead. At the moment, I can only say that that we will do everything to better our level, and we will look to put the best players available for Delneri. Diego heading towards the Bundesliga? They are only voices of the mercato, we have registered the interest of a few clubs for him, just like other players, we’re evaluating everything that comes in. There is nothing concrete at all right now, but we will evaluate with time, trying to put Juve’s interests first at all time.”

This is shitty. Modern football tactics heavily depend on fast physical skill wingers and some very solid fullbacks. Our own formation is designed for this system of which we have no quality players for those positions.
Tell me about it.

People are getting excited about Motta, Lanza, not so much Pepsi, but they don't see how close to a disaster what we have now is.
Lanzafame can make a trick or two, but that's it. Motta knows nothing about defending, but is fine forward. Pepe can offer protection to an attacking fullback, and that's it. But even he sleeps in attack too often. De Ceglie gives nothing.

If we have Lanza in the first team, then we'll need someone who stays at the back behind him. If we have Pepe in the team then we'll need a very good fullback behind him. If we have Motta in the team, then he needs help in defense from the winger. If we have DC in the team, God help us.

2 of them in the same team is the maximum I'd allow. And by two I don't mean Lanza and Motta on the same side or Pepe and DC on the same side.
Actually, no. For a team that wants to win something, 2 of these 4 in the same team is bad. 1 of them maximum.

:shifty:

We lost on penalty but we should haved scored 4 goal in regular time
But we didn't score 4 goals , and we didn't win against a very weak milan side .

We played almost with our starting line-up , but it's clearly that we must do some improvements in all the parts of our team , in defence ,midfield and the attack .

We lack quality !!

I think people are too harsh when it comes down to Motta's defending abilities. He's decent and IMO way better than what we had over the past 3-4 years.

He's not even close to decent. Open your eyes, Dusan. That's amateurish level what he showed on two occasions against Shamrock, how badly he was owned (and that was ownage in the literal meaning) against Ivory Coast and tonight's mistake for the goal and the space he left. Those aren't occasional mistakes. Caceres was doing the exact same mistakes, but he was at least fast and from time to time he managed to correct the mistake. Motta lacks even in that department.

You want to see him as an improvement, as we all do, but he is not. I now see that it was exactly his lack of defensive skills that resulted with Ranieri benching him. It's all fine that he's much better than all our recent and current fullbacks when he attacks, but that means squat for someone who is first and foremost a defender.
