Because that's a classic Juve jersey with some gold details on it. Modern designers only go back to this retro look every 5 or so seasons, so we have to put up with something contemporary and often rubbish for those in-between.
In terms of design the current halved kit is a nice looking kit, it's just not a Juve kit.
The 17-18 kit was great and 13-14 was good, the ones around those are more experiments with stripe numbers and widths. They have to make them different from each other year-to-year to warrant their inclusion.
