I don't understand the logic of keeping the flag down the entire time on an offside player. Why let them continue to play if it doesn't count for anything?
Bacause if ref whistles for offside then the play is ruined even if he's wrong.
So they let players to finish the action and see if they score a goal. If they score then VAR checks if ref is right or not.
they were completely impotent for the majority of the match, their only chance i remember was that disallowed goal. this is clearly a worse team, closer to nantes than to juve
