How bad is Bernardeschi? He is doing my head in. Can't remember the last time he made the simple play. He either dribbles until he falls down or loses the ball OR he tries some Beckham-style long range passes that never go through.

How hard is it to send out a simple 433? Morata on the wing, Kean/Kaio in the middle and you make some sense of it. 442 with just one winger does not even have the defensive solidity it did at the start. Teams figured out how to stretch us out and just pass through the middle with no fuss. We're lucky not to be down by a goal or two.

Quality is lacking, as we all know, but I did like the intensity and the organization. That's basically the most we can expect from this set of players, and I am satisfied. I liked Morata and Kulusevski in this half. Kulu is finally playing with confidence. He didn't have it before and that made him our worst player, or one of the worst.
All in all, considering who are we missing tonight and the quality of those playing, this was a good half.
