“Derby SLAncio di vita”: what a great show!
It’s not possible to put a value on Zidane playing great football, Nedved running all over the pitch, Davids “growling” on his opponents, and Vialli trying overhead kicks. Tonight, Juventus supporters had a memorable occasion not to be missed: cheering their beloved favourites.

It was greatly to Vialli and Massimo Mauro’s credit, and especially to their foundation which has been involved for years against ALS. Tonight, the Olympic Stadium in Torino left the Serie A and B aside and turned into a special stage for football legends, champions from Juventus and Torino involved in the “Derby SLAncio di vita”.

And the city responded to this great occasion: the whole facility was packed of fans who gave their contribution in the fight against ALS. A revenue of 230,000 Euros: this was the amount raised from a memorable evening.

Despite their age and some aches, on the pitch the players offered an amazing show. The first half was dedicated to over 45s (with some youngsters as well…), to Vialli and Ravanelli, Gentile and Cabrini, Causio and Cuccureddu. A though game won in extremis by Torino, thanks to a goal from Leo Junior, a player who along with Platini gave life to unforgettable derbies in the '80s.

The second part dedicated to over 35s was only black and white: Juve overcame Toro 2-1 thanks to goals from Nedved and Porrini, but the game was also enlivened by the great play shown by Zidane, Nedved, Davids and Montero.

The list of all Juventus legends who supported Mauro and Vialli’s cause is as follows: Bonini, Boniperti, Cabrini, Carrera, Causio, Chimenti, Cuccureddu, Davids, De Agostini, Furino, Gentile, Grabbi, Iuliano, Marocchi, Marocchino, Montero, Nedved, Padovano, Porrini, Rampulla, Ravanelli, Storgato, Tacchinardi, Tacconi, Tavola, Torricelli, Tudor, Vierchowod, Vieri, Vignola and Zidane. More than 80 years of Juve on only one pitch!
