Juventus are ready to make a player-plus-cash offer for Lyon defender Cris. The Brazilian was a target for AC Milan, but Lyon’s £15 million asking price was deemed too rich by club vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Juve are also baulking at the demand, but director general Luciano Moggi hopes to bring down the cash component by offering Uruguayan pair Ruben Olivera and Marcelo Zalayeta as part of their offer.

Would rather that Juve bring in some player around 25-27 of age but Cris is a other story. He is a great strong defender and will definatly make our defence stronger!
    BRING HIM IN

Chris is a very good long term investment for Juve. He has proven his worth as a defender that can deal with even the best of teams in Europe. He would be welcomed with open arms here at Juventus

29 is a good age for a defender, he's a lot younger than Thuram, Kovac and Cannavaro anyway.
only 2 years younger than Kovac. But on the other hand, we get Cannavaro @ 30 and he is performing very well up to this date. Not sure if Cris will be a flop or not, and the asking price is also steep...........so gotta look elsewhere

    :agree:

£15 million for a 29 years old brazilian defender is too expensive..

I think £15 mil for a defender sounds a lot anyway, im more than sure we can get pepe for much cheaper or anyone else for that matter. I dont like the idea of spending the bulk of the transfer money on a defender when our real concerns is our offense (playmaker). Also I dont believe £15 mil, will be the actual cost of getting him, if milan hear the fact that we are bidding for him too (via lyons outspoken chairman) then we are gonna go for a bidding war and its just gonna turn into a nasty fiasco where the winner will turn out having regrets of having spent loads. Also I really wonder if Lyon really want the likes of zalayeta, or even possibly olivera. The real question is even if they were added to the total package how much addition to giving them will juve have the cough out in cash?

Cris is a good player but he isn't worth 15m. I'd prefer Gallas but I'm not gonna say no to Cris.

I really like Cris, he especially impressed me during the Champions League in particular against AC Milan. Im sure he would be a good signing.

However, the asking price is way over the top for a 29 year old defender in the current market.
