After conceding seven goals in their last two games, Juventus are apparently ready to reinforce their defence with the signing of Daniel Van Buyten.

The Bayern Munich centre-back made quite an impression during last week's Champions League encounter, which ended 4-1 in the German side's favour.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Bianconeri feel Van Buyten can be had relatively cheaply and would offer experience once Fabio Cannavaro retires as expected at the end of this season.

The Belgium international's contract runs out in the summer and Juventus believe Bayern would accept a bid in the region of £2m for him.

Van Buyten has his heart set on a renewal, but Bayern have so far failed to come to the negotiating table, frustrating the 31-year-old considerably.

Juventus have also been linked with Genoa starlet Andrea Ranocchia, but he is more of a long-term target and will remain on loan at Bari until the end of the season.
