There's something really strange about this guy. He spent a season on loan in Romania and didn't make a single appearance. I seem to remember someone posting here saying that he wasn't even listed on the website of Cluj while he was there. Then he went to Novara and only played 27 minutes all season (in the last game of the season).

Watch Materazzi's defending there :lol:

Martinez had a really good season that year, Catania in general were fun to watch, especially at home.
@The Curr

- struggled in his first year at Juve, pressure, tactical issues (Delneri's move from a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 to a 4-4-2) and injury problems
- Conte instantly disliked him
- sent on loan to Cesena, played a dozen games, missed two large spells of the season with injuries again
- loaned to Cluj, something of a mystery but he had problems settling in and alien country, language issues, more fitness problems
- loaned to Novara, didn't play a single game. The first coach Alfredo Aglietti mostly used a 3-5-2. The later coach Alessandro Calori used a 4-2-3-1 which would suit him, but by this time he had already been blacklisted.
- loaned to Juventud in Uruguay, took some time to be considered (out of shape) and only used off the bench in a handful of later games.

We can gather from this that he has mostly been physically unfit, unprofessional, and probably a bit weak mentally.

I bet he tells his friends back home that he is at Juventus and Juventud was just a typo. He even asks them to watch in black and white to give a more retro feeling so that they won't notice the blue stripes.
