please be serious.
I'm only ever serious.

“Motta? We are talking about a coach who has a very modern idea of football. With Thiago Motta on the bench, I can play either as a right-back, just like with Brazil, or as one of the two central defenders, and in case of extreme necessity, even on the left flank. A versatile utility player.”

Waaaaay too slow to play out wide. Too poor physically to play CB. I don't mind guys poor touches today because he was probably stiff from nervousness. But he is just way too slow to play here.

Mixed performance.

He had some impressive one touch passes, one started our best move of the first half. But shaky at times too. He also looks slow to accelerate but didn't look slow when in his stride, I think he can improve that.

Looked nervous and error prone on first half. IMproved a little in 2nd but was not impressed. Needs a loan or something.

Indeed on this game alone he is far off from Savona. Who plays it extremely safe and in control both in defence and with ball, almost never any mistakes. While Rouhi had like 6 mistakes in first game half alone. Combination of poor heavy touch and clearly nerves.

Probably our worst player last evening, the difference was night and day when Cambiaso came on. However, glad we're resting players and giving these youngsters a shot whenever possible. Hopefully it was a one off due to the nerves and he'll improve in the next games.

Not only that, but from all this crop of youngsters motta has been trying, roui genuinely looked out of his depth in comparison to his colleagues

I do think it’s a little unfair to judge a guy after one game, but it’s also not like he’s gonna get faster with more playing time lol. He made some interesting passes and he’s got good size so he can still be a solid player despite the lack of pace.

but if Motta really only views Cabal as a CB, I hope they‘re on the hunt for a better LB. Could start with Ahanor from Genoa. Lock him up before someone else does. You’ve got a guy working for Giuntoli that signed him and knows him better than anyone, so use that.

Totally agree! Unfair to judge so early.
What I liked is that he seemed to be very hardworking and humble! Many players get too much hype and then turn into mediocre divas such as Bruno Fernandes whose full time job is now a Senior Toxic Whiner
