Pastore now worth €70m

President Maurizio Zamparini has again raised his valuation of Palermo jewel Javier Pastore. “He’s worth €70m.”

After previously insisting that the playmaker was valued at €50m and then €60m, the Rosanero chief has again upped his price tag.

“He’s worth €70m,” Zampa noted. “He is one of the best players in the world and there are some clubs who could spend that amount.”

Reports yesterday suggested that Zamparini was willing to do a deal with Juventus, but he now maintains that was just a joke.

“I was fooling around in that interview,” he added. “I said they could have Pastore if they gave me Claudio Marchisio and Giorgio Chiellini.

“Pastore will never join Juventus. If they are really interested in him then they should talk to me and not the papers.

“However, it is my intention to keep Pastore at Palermo next season too as he’s one of the strongest players in the championship.”

Zamparini knows that he is going to lose Pastore at the end of this season or the next so he is trying to make his price tag as higher that he can.
Zamparini will probably sell him if an offer of 30M+ arrives

Zamparini would say Iaquinta is worth 30M if he was his player

Zamparini is an annoying fuck.

He can take his overrated, overhyped, overpriced scarecrow to hell with him.

The way he overhype Pastore, one would think he's the last decent player out there !

I'd take Ganso, Lucas, Hazard and dozen other players over that toothpick anyday.

I find it bizzare how you guys react to an owner hyping up a prized commodity so he can get favourable fee in selling. Thats the name of the game, nothing to do with being crazy or being delusional, or overrated. But he has a player clubs would want, and he is marketing him, and inflating his worth, so the bidding price can start out at higher then it normally would. Plus most of it is empty talk. The practicality of what will happen in the summer will be entirely different. Right now, its just about wooing the window shoppers.

Its bit lolsy to get all negative/diss Pastore JUST because Zamparini is talking up a price.

At the same time one shouldn't deny that they hype surrounding Pastore is a bit disgusting to say the least. I've seen way better players than him at his age and I don't understand all this orgasm people are having.

I can digest the fact that he's talented and all but stop over-rating a player so much. Not even Messi was so overrated in his first few games for Barcelona's Rijkaard.

How and where is he getting so overhyped? It seems people get carried away by Zamps words. Because media wise, or posts here, are mainly just stating the obvious, that he is a young quality player. People didnt say it much last season, but this season, he is PERFORMING extremely well, hence the added reputation of it follows.

He is getting over-hyped here. Just because Zamparini stated that he would take Marchisio for Pastore people are already making Claudio an average player which is not the case and also forgetting the fact that Marchi is playing out of his position this season. And just like Pastore Marchisio is attracting big clubs too although they wouldn't pay as much for Marchi because obviously he's no pony show on the field like Pastore.

And you said it, this is his first good season, I'm not fundamental with over-rating a player after only one season. People in this thread and in Serie A thread already compared him to some big legendary players which is not even funny.

Pastore is a very good player and I'm sure he will become world class soon. That said, I do agree with some of you who say he is getting overhyped, but that's his stupid presidents fault and some football unwise pps! Pastore is 21 (iirc) and still not a starter for his country! Let me just say that I wanna bet on Neymar being a world class player for both country and club before he turns 21.. I would splash the cash for him, not Pastore.. Also Neymar would fit perfect in a 4-3-3 where we get to keep the Midfield we have, Marchisio gets to play where he's best and we don't have to deal with that shit head of Palermos (Zamp)

Marchisio discussion is unrelated to Pastore, I barely addressed Pastore because I dont think we are getting him (though it would be practical especially because he wouldnt be non EU). Said wouldnt trade Claudio, but his flaws, or his mainly just about average hardworking overall performances (has spikes to good performances occasionally, like right now), speaks contrary to the notion of him being a special player or more delusiionally a world class one.

Pastore is no show pony (he's style is bit more practical), and he IS better then Marchisio, the sooner you come terms to that, the better. He is having a great season. And only reason he can compared to legendary players is in talent, or that he would resemble their start in his career, legendary players were young talents once, and it was obvious to see they would become real special type of player with few more years in their career. There are several other young players in this level, but Pastore is one of them, future top ranking player.

I like and prefer Neymar in several ways, but majority of the people talking about him here seems to not seen him. He can be bit frustrating, even if his tremendous talent makes up for it mostly.

One thing regarding Marchisio is that he gotta step up his game, a lot, cause he's not really young anymore.

His role is yet very undefined, too.

As for Pastore, he's simply a wizard and surely not overrated around these parts. That being said, Zamparini is just a clown who constantly tries to make the media hype around him in which he succeeds quite often.

Whats that supposed to mean or even prove? He plays for Argentina, where his main competition for central AM role is frigging Messi. Plus having tons of great attacking options as competition too. Basically would been starter for most other NTs who doesnt have the world best player as AM, and isnt as filled with wide selection as Argentina is.
