Without a doubt. IMO he's easily top 3 CBs in the world right now (to me he's actually the best).

The guy is absolutely brilliant and he's pretty much good at everything. He plays quite aggressive so I don't think I've ever seen him lose his opponent. He's great at marking, great in the air and he also has very good technique for a defender. To me that guy has everything that takes to be in any club right now.

Any team will be damn lucky to have him.

I heard Roma has problems with FFP they might be 'forced' to sell. I've seen links that say Destro might be sold to Tottenham for 20-22mln, so dunno.

He was very good but last season he was not as good as 2 years ago (when he was better). But I can't agree with that, IMO Benatia is the best defender in Serie A at the moment.

I don't think Kompany is better too.

Saying he's the best might be pushing it, but he has everything that it takes to be there and he's certainly top 3 right now.

Barza proved himself in Europe and in the NT too. Not to mention that he is constantly playing great in Serie A in the last 3 years. I cant remember a mistake made by him. When i think about it, i cant remember a bad game by Barza too.

Two years ago Real, Dortmund and Ajax raped their defense in every single match. Last season they did better but still far from impressive when you see him. He was not even named in top 5 in CL.

So saying stuff like that makes no sense, since Kompany hasn't showed anything in Europe.

Godin on the other hand did and I'd be fine if you named him.

Barzagli is still better defender. Despite his age, he's been incredibly consistent. I remember Benatia making regualar lapses towards the end of last season. Godin, Barzagli, TS, Kompany imho are all better atm. Probably could find few more.

Everyone apart from Roma didn't buy Benatia. Just like everyone apart from Juventus didn't buy Vidal, or Pogba, or Barzagli.

It's almost as if sometimes teams make great deals and others miss out.

We got the best they had to offer. Quag, Pepe, Isla, and Iaquinta back in the day are/were all bonafide superstars. We really missed out on D'Agostino tho

Kompany is a sack of shit. He makes too many mistakes, and gets too many cards. Definitely a quality defender, but far from being the best.
