Milan and Inter are the only "big" italian clubs (besides us ofc). I think one or even both of them will have a new stadium by 2020 at the latest. milans problem is their laughable management, but thohir seems to be a smart guy and inter made some good moves since his arrival.

That was the problem in Champions League for Italian Clubs in the last 2-3 years (6-7, if we exclude Inter's "lucky" run in 2010). Milan clubs have fallen, both from a sporty and economical perspective, and have been replaced in quality by experienceless sides like Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina. Napoli has had their 2-3 years of good experience on Europe (they have done better than Man City, probably) and have catched up the experience needed to perform consistently, if they have a good team. Roma will be newbies next year, we'll see if they have the right attitude and squad depth. For both of them, as things stay, reaching the Round of 16/Quarter final if they pick up shit in the drawing of 16 should be great. As of us, except for mad campaigns when imponderable happens like the latest, we won't have problem in reaching the QF every year as things stands, except if, by some way, we draw a very big fish in the round of 16. To return to you point, I don't see Milan clubs climbing their way back any soon (and I don't even hope so, shit, I'm Juventino). You look confident about Inter, but Thohir does not have a penny and didn't even do nothing to hide so. This transfer campign is ridiculous, Inter had to invest seriously this year to bounce back and all they could take is average/old players. Medel, M'Vila, Osvaldo, downhill Vidic... I mean, what the fuck is that? Even Lazio and Fiorentina have a better team than them, let's be serious. Now someone is considering them for a summer tournee where the mighty Olympiakos kicked asses. They can compete with Parma maybe, as things stand, and I'm not joking. If the old Palacio doesn't save their ass evey now and then once again and Icardi blossom, they're likely to have a Stramaccioni-esque season once again. Milan, on the other hand, is a serious club and would need just a BIT of decent management for fighting for top spots every year, but they don't even have that, and they don't even look for changements, so... i think different on inters mercato: m´vila, medel, vidic, rolando (on his way) and osvaldo (loan with option to buy 7 mio.) are good signings. if they manage to offload guarin, kuz and maybe alvarez and sign a strong SS like cerci or jovetic, then their team is really good in my opinion.
nobody knows how rich thohir actually is, but his family runs a multi-billion-dollar company. so i guess he isnt that poor at all. thohir wants merda to be self-sufficient and not to repeat morattis and berlusconis faults all over again.

i think inter is a much more dangerous opponent in the future than milan, cuz berlusconi and galliani completely lost the plot. they have no ambition anymore, because berlusconi has won everything multiple times and he doesnt need milan for political reasons (getting votes) anymore. berlusconis political career is over since he got thrown out of the senate in december 2013.

That is true, but Thohir is a good bussinessman, and he will run the club better than Moratti, which was also the point of @blacknwhite i believe.
Inter are progressing imo, they will be better than last year, that's for sure, but they are still inferior to us, Napoli and Roma, and i guess Fiorentina aswell. But who knows, they could end up fighting for top 3 if things work out for them.
Thohir has clearly understood though, that for Inter at the moment, it is not a sprint, but a marathon, and if he tries to take financial short cuts like Moratti did, it might bring short term temporary succes, but it will bite him in the ass afterwards and he will have to start over from scratch again. Nothing is impossible in football, 10 years ago no one would have thought Sunderland would spend more money than AC Milan. No one would have thought we be lagging behind 4 teams in EPL. I am sure those impossible remarks now , would have said the same those days as well.

Yes but Italy shot itself in the foot with Calciopoli. Spain or England are not stupid enough to crush their own league not only that but the 2 Milan clubs all of a sudden decided to stop spending money because they have been run very badly over the last 10 or so years. Even if Man United and Chelsea got relegated people would still tune into the PL every week because that league has so much exposure and most teams plays a very fast paced attacking game which creates excitement even if it is tactically weak.
Italy going down to such a low level was a chain of events, first Juve getting wrongfully relegated, then Ac Milan stop spending money shortly followed by Inter failing to invest money and go broke after Moratti finally got his CL trophy so he could put the picture up beside his fathers.
Last but not least the infrastructure is so poor in Italy it is well behind the other countries in revenues. I cant see any of that ever happening in England or Spain, when the blood samples that were tested positive for Spanish Athletes they didn't take those footballers/cyclists to court they just destroyed them instead and brushed it all under the carpet.

I don't think you are right. It could happen, but i think the probability of an italian team winning a CL before a portuguese team is higher than vice versa. Look at Benfica, they have almost lost their whole starting eleven, and this is typical for them and Porto (and Sporting, who aren't top notch at the moment though). Everytime some of their players shine, they sell them and have to rebuild again. They are fairly competitive, but the trend does not seem to change. Porto also seem to loose some of their important players. In the meanwhile, Italian teams, while maybe being a bit behind for the last couple of years, are progressing - slowly, but with an upwards trend. Financially, Serie A has a lot more potential aswell, even though we are after England and Spain and partly Germany at the moment.
