Seems like the Parma takeover is turning out to be another Cagliari case.So many conflicting reports this all sounds like a media stunt really.Wont be even surprised Ghirardi stays on with Parma.
Unless the person is from an Italian background or has genuine passion for the Italian game,no wealthy businessman would even think of investing in this league.Especially random Serie A clubs who make less than 70-80m in revenue and main source of income is only from TV rights.

Making big announcements before things even enter the planning stages is an Italian thing. Remember Roma's new stadium from 3 years ago and when Zamparini said he was about to sell Palermo to wealthy Arabs?

Part of the reason why is because of the extremely high tax rates doesn't appeal to foreign investors to buy into clubs that is before you look at Serie A as a marketable package, although it has improved over the last few years with the early afternoon matches to appeal to the asian market and with the supercup being played abroad it is still a long way off from the likes of the bundesliga and the EPL.
