Sky Italia are reportedly ready to offer even more money for Serie A television rights – but only in return for exclusivity.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the pay-TV broadcasters are prepared to bid in excess of the €561m they tabled for rights from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
There is currently no exclusivity for the sale of football rights in Italy, but Sky would like that introduced for a number of packages that will go on the market for the 2015-18 period.
Serie A clubs met on Friday to discuss their options, including the possible introduction of a dedicated Serie A Channel. That possibility, however, is unlikely to go ahead given the costs involved.

Are you sure? If it's Sky Italia, it means that they are the only domestic TV Channel to show Serie A, but wouldn't it still be optainable for TV networks in other countries? Does anyone know how much money PL makes on domestic broadcasting alone? I really have no idea, but i have a theory that says, that all though the money paid for domestic broadcasting are bigger in PL than in Serie A, it's on the international scene the gap really becomes enormous. I could be wrong...
The Premier League's live audio-visual UK broadcast rights are sold in three season packages in a heavily regulated auction process. For the purposes of that process the rights are sold in six packages of 23 matches with no single broadcaster allowed to purchase all six. The packages are labelled A-F and are distinguished by the time at which certain matches can be broadcast. For example Package A is for 23 matches per season to be broadcast on a Sunday at 16.00 and Package D is for 23 matches per season to be broadcast on a Saturday at 17.30.

The income from overseas rights is divided equally between the 20 Premier League clubs.
