Not a surprise.
Was fairly apparent from the outset that they didn't have a balanced team, which was semi-understandable since they are transitioning from 3-5-2- to 4-2-3-1.
Be interesting to see how they do this summer because they only need a couple of good players to become very strong.
And there is still a fair amount of stuff floating around suggesting Mascherano is going to be one of those good players.
He is.
I think they are playing him too far forward.
He used to start deep and burst forward, something like Lampard used to, and that made him very hard to pick up.
Now he's spending a lot of time almost playing as a partner for Higuain up front and that makes it much harder for him to find space and influence games in the way he used to.
