I said 'let's say 10'. How could support from stands get weaker? Maybe some of the seats would be empty but more fans would be there as well. Average attendance of 38K means it was always full and we are denying some of the fans who are willing pay money to be there.

The numbers are not what makes the support electric. It's the amount of people in close proximity, cheering, chanting and shouting in unison. Obviously when they're separated by 200 metres and 8 rows of seats, the noise will be dampened and it will also be demoralising, both to them and the players.
