Empoli Blame Roma For Relegation

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has blamed Roma for their relegation to Serie B, saying that the Giallorossi basically allowed Catania to score the equaliser that saved them.

The Azzurri went into this final round of the season knowing that they could only stay up if they beat Livorno, and both Parma and Catania lost their respective matches against Inter and Roma.

Empoli completed their part of the equation by winning 2-1, and had seemed set for survival with Inter and Roma both winning going into the closing stages.

However when Inter went 2-0 up at Parma, Roma knew that their chances of winning the Scudetto were over, and their heads and concentration levels seemed to drop. With five minutes remaining Jorge Martinez found an equaliser, to keep Catania up, and send Empoli down to Serie B instead.

“Catania’s goal was a farce,” Corsi.

“It went the way everyone expected it to – Catania equalised as soon as Inter sealed up the result in Parma and therefore the title.”
Meanwhile Empoli coach Gigi Cagni leaves the club following relegation, and the veteran is upset at how things ended.

“This is the result on the field and we must accept it,” he conceded.

“We knew we had to hope for other scores to come in and it didn’t happen. It’s a shame to leave Empoli like this.”

So Milan play in the UEFA cup..and im like yea, whatever. And then i think of Flamini, and i crack up at the dick. But hey,he never joined them for money so its all cool.
Forza Milan. Sugar coat it as much as you want, Fester, but a Serie B club last season is in the Champions League and you chumps, reigning champs that you were, are not next season. Sounds like success to me.

It sucks that Parma had to be religated, I like them. Cigarini to Juve now? :D :xfinger:

Oh and a big haha to Milan fans.
Cigarini was a douche in the Parma match. I really expected a lot more out of him in such a critical game for his club, but he choked at least if not moreso than his teammates today.

After the first solid 30 minutes, Parma got desperate and it got to be like watching a mid-season Juve match where everyone was taking desperate 30 meter shots just to get rid of the ball on a prayer.

:D

I know exactly how you feel. I can't waint until the CL Final on Wednesday. I watch the CL with about 10 Milan fans. I can't wait to see them show their faces after this. It is going to be great.

That gave me an idea. A short high school reunion wouldn't hurt.
:lol2:

I like you even though you said good riddance to my modship.
Well you were a bad mod. :p

Not that the (most) current ones are good either.

I'm sure you of all people could make that happen ;). I know I am making sure to call every Milan to make sure they come to my apartment for my CL party. We don't get to rub it in their faces that often now do we? :D

How was I a bad mod?

It's not like I banned or warned anybody that didn't deserve it. In fact, many think I was a good mod.
Well unbanning Burke. Even worse, giving him your password to use your account, while he was banned. If I were the owner of the site, I wouldn't exactly appreciate that.

The main problem with mods here is the lack of neutrality. Everybody has got friends and foes here and it's clearly visible, except for a select few.

Not that I think I'd do any better.

Exactly, I think I'll ring a few faces I haven't seen in years. I just hope they don't see through me, because I haven't seen or heard some of them for well over 2,3 years. It won't be suspicious, will it? :D

Well hey man, I've known Burke for a number of years. If you were in the same position, you would have done the same thing because be honest - this forum doesn't matter that much.

All true man, that's what made you a bad mod in my opinion and would make me as well.

Yeah but unbanning someone isn't the worst thing you could do as a mod. Sure, Burke insulted people, but it was always on a joking basis. People insult one another all the time.

You systematically own Maher, for instance. :D
