I think they wanted to provoke, because they knew it was going to happen. Also, it's not easy to know what operation people are running on a ship, so the circumstances were ambiguous. If their goal was humanitarian aid alone, they could have done a much better job.

They did the best job they could. When Egypt said that it won't allow aid convoys to pass through them a few months back, Galloway said that they'd take the sea alternative, and thats what they did. Someone had to do something to help Gaza's people.

you make sense, and you speak the truth, but since you recognize this is still fresh and making some emotional, your rational assessment should take into account some tact if indeed your purpose is to convince people of the righteousness of your ways.

You make sure everyone knows you're going to go there. Every news agency out there should know. Israel know you're going there for humanitarian aid. Everyone knows who exactly is on board of your ship. Your route is known, your time of departure is known. Everything.
