Can anyone start a business, online or whereever by simply putting a Juventus logo on something, or using the Juventus name alone, and selling shirts, flags, etc. Is this legal?

I was talking to my GF, and she said it was illegal, yet I see many sellers on Ebay and the like still in business, selling knock off NOT official Nike Juventus products and doing ok. Is this true?

Lets say I take a shirt, and make a sick David Beckham La Galaxy design, and then want to sell that, is that possible?

No, it's not legal. The fact that others do it still doesnt make it legal.

The logo is copyrighted and you cant use it without the clubs permission.

Why doesn't Ebay catch on to this, and cancel the listings. Do they think they're real?

Could you get around it if you just put a picture of a player? Or..erm....anything but the logo or team name?

Selling something with a picture of a player will violate two different laws - copyright on the photo (unless there's a good photo in wikimedia commons or something) and using a person's image without their permission.

About as close as you can get is selling t-shirts with Juve related slogans.

What about "Forza Juve" in a sexy cursive gold font, with some black and white stripes. Doable? haha

They cancel and withdraw listings for what they can catch. It's not all that easy. They often have to rely on people reporting them.

For example, there are rampant copies of DVDs on eBay too. People burn them as fast as they can and sell them as if new. Also wholly illegal, and a lot still gets through on eBay.
