i think this is the moment to clear out a few things

it is one thing to believe that there is a higher being and it is a completely different thing to take a few books written by some man centuries ago literally
So, you believe there is a God, but you don't believe that he's like what's told in religious books. Ok?

Hello Ze. I'm agnostic and I accept your invitations. Since agnostics (from what I understand, it's not like I deliberately put myself in this group) believe that there's-no-way-to-know-one-way-or-the-other, I have no obligation to prove anything. Have a nice day. :p

Since I'm somewhere in between, I get along just fine with both, although religious people scare me sometimes when they're in large groups and all yelling the same thing very loud. Individually they're smashing. :pint:
Hello Martin. You've followed in the trend of our dear Don Bes here and it's clear to me now that agnostics and athiests are nothing opportunists (or whatever the word is for you guys); just waiting around for something to smack you in the forehead before you believe it.

As for you fear of large religious gatherings; I'm sorry I can't help your social anxiety :)

You have a nice day :smoke:

I have to say I have no idea what you're saying. Opportunists in what way?

Could you explain to me what I'm thinking? :D

it might have not be for osama and all those on the top of the food chain, but those who took their own lives believed they were going to heaven
If it wasn't for the US of A buzzing into the Arabian lands none of this would've happened

That's life, u can't blame Osama and his morons alone, u should also blame the US gov't

I won't get anymore in this because this will destroy the idea of the thread...

But it was for sure not a religious reason...

And how can you judge whether that book - whatever you mean - deserves to be applied literally or not? Did you read it?

no i do not believe there is a god. however, i do respect non-religious people who believe in god
How do you feel toward religious people honestly?? DO you think of them as those who chose the easiest ways and believed in one creater just because they don't want to get exhausted with the complicated truth behind all this life??

I couldn't find the right word :p What I mean was that sitting around waiting for believers to prove to you that God exists is like waiting around for someone to show you satellite pictures of earth to prove that the world is round. I don't know how else to say it.

    And Oh My God!

    :wallbang:

Falafel, Ahmedios, Rebel, back off; you guys are attacking Bes like wild animals. Just by his first post he made it clear that he's doing nothing but being a couch potato waiting for others to knock on his door to tell him when they have "proof" of God.

I see you're lumping me with bes here and while that would normally be a welcome distinction, I don't share what appears to be his anger toward religion.

I can only say that I have given the topic of religion a lot of attention in my life and over the last few years my curiosity has driven me to engage a lot of people on the subject. So I find it sort of curious that you're assuming you know all about it, unless you've spoken to one of them.

in my opinion, there are two types of religious poeple:
those who keep their beliefs to themselves and those who do not.

i dont mind those who keep it to themselves but it is those who do not keep it to themself that annoyed me up to the point where i do not see religion as an option

most people needs to take the easy way, you have religion, i have cigarettes

Ok, I'm out of it, and good night everybody...

And, Bes, when you have some time, please read in this site and you'll find it's impossible that Quran was written by a man:

martin how can i not be "angry" when this guy makes this statement

I'm talking just about our holy book; Qur'an, because, it was sent by ALLAH and no one but ALLAH.

exactly bes. I am annoyed by these people who want everyone to believe in GOD. I believe in God too, but I dont tell everyone that they must believe too.
